Contract Breakdown | Term & Termination

Term & Termination

How long will you work with your client? And how long does this agreement last?

The term section is generally in the first half of your contract. The termination section is in the second half of your contract. These sections describe the length of time for the contract.

The term section tells you how long this contract is going to last. The termination section tells you who, how, and when someone can end the contract early. If your term is based on the completion of a project, make sure you have an approval process in place.

Make sure you also have a termination section in all of your contracts and that you have the right to terminate the contract early. If your client has the right to terminate, make sure you require that they give you adequate notice so you can plan accordingly!
