Schedule SE

Schedule SE (Form 1040) is a tax form used to calculate self-employment tax liability for individuals who work for themselves, including freelancers.

As a freelancer, you are considered self-employed and are therefore required to pay self-employment tax on your net earnings from self-employment. Schedule SE is used to calculate your self-employment tax liability based on your net earnings from self-employment, which is calculated on Schedule C (Form 1040).
