I know you’re busy working in and on your design business, so I don’t want to take too much of your time today, but I’d like to offer 25 solid pieces of entrepreneurial advice.

I got these gems from a book I read not too long ago titled “The One Minute Entrepreneur“. It offers many more tips on becoming a successful entrepreneur, but I have chosen my 25 favorite pieces of advice to share with you today.

Which one is your favorite? Do these ring true to you?

You'll also enjoy this episode of our new podcast...

  1. You can get what you want in life if you help other people get what they want.
  2. Success occurs when opportunity and preparation meet.  (Meaning always work hard to be prepared for the moment when opportunity will knock at your door.
  3. It’s not who you know that counts; it’s who know you and what they think of you.

  5. Always visualize your desired outcome ahead of time.
  6. Ambition is the fuel that can drive life-changing events.
  7. Identify what you are passionate about doing. Look to do more of it.

  15. Unless you want to do all the work, you have to think of ways to some up with new sources of revenue.
  16. Making a profit is always a necessity if you want to stay in business.
  17. Profit is the applause ou get for taking care of your customers and creating a motivating environment for your people.
  18. Passionate people and loyal customers drive success in your organization.
  19. Long-term success is about more than making tomorrow’s numbers.
  20. Relationships at home and in the workplace can deteriorate when they aren’t nourished.
  21. Keep your priorities in order.
  22. Work hard to balance your business life with the rest of your life. (Also, check out the Millo aticle on this same topic.)

  1. #26. Always use spellcheck. : )

  2. I would add another point to this post – whatever you do be passionate about it. Because after a while the shiny new wrapper will fade and you will no longer want to do what you do.

I’m been a graphic designer now for 20 years. And I still love it. I now run my own design business (and I also blog about it too 😉

Whatever entrepreneurial thoughts you have, first and foremost be passionate!
